Deoparbhat

Deoparbat Ruins, also known as Deopahar, are the archaeological remains of an ancient temple. These remains are situated close to Kaziranga National Park. The statues of this temple are scattered on a hilltop, from where visitors can get a view of the Numaligarh tea estate and nearby Karbi Anglong hills. The historic Deoparbat, is home to several ancient relics, monuments and Siva temples.. The ancient temple of Deoparbat was destroyed in the great earthquake that occurred in 1897.

The Archeological Department of the State government has adopted several schemes for making Deoparbat a tourist spot. A museum was constructed and it was inaugurated.
